Happy Valentines Day!

Hey everyone! It's been nearly a month since my last entry. I keep telling myself to write in here more often, but I usually don't listen! I just wanted to share my current Facebook status -
True love isn't flowers and chocolates or sparkly cards with some sentiment written by someone else. It's not always a fuzzy feeling or butterflies in your tummy. No. True love is waking up everyday next to the same face and same bad breath. It's washing clothes. It's cooking meals. It's going to work. It's dealing with mood swings. It's watching that movie you've seen 1000 times and still hate, but they love it. It's sticking together no matter what. It's supporting each other. It's giving. It's commitment. Love is everyday things. Love is a promise.
Today so many people are pressured into buying roses, chocolates, cards, stuffed animals and so on, so they can show their love to that special someone. While that's all fine and dandy, nothing wrong with some chocolate, but we shouldn't just wait for this one day to show how much we love someone. Love is an everyday thing. It's not always ooey gooey, sometimes it's hard work! Love is a conscience decision to put someones welfare above your own.  In a society where marriage is disposable and sex is viewed as a toy and where 'love' songs abound and are filled with cliches, love is something that is totally misunderstood.
God has shown us a great example of what love is - unselfish, unwavering and always present.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. - John 15:13
So today celebrate your love, but today celebrate it all the more. Mirror Christ and His love for us, look to Him to teach you how to truly love.
